- BACCARDAX, Claire Barbara ? 98, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at the Admiral Long Term Care home on December 12, 2023. Born in D'Ecousse, Cape Breton, Claire was the daughter of the late Lauchlin and Anita (Pertus) Poirier. Claire was a devoted mother to Richard and Emile while using her entrepreneurial spirit working for Avon Canada. Claire was a talented seamstress creating many lovely outfits in her spare hours. She was strong willed and when she put her mind to a task, it was always completed to perfection.
Claire and Wilfred spent their retirement years travelling across Canada and the United States on bus tours. They travelled on several ocean cruises sharing the sights and experiences with their travelling group of buddies. Claire had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life which she lived to the fullest with Wilfred. Claire loved her home in D'Escousse and looked forward to the summer of each year when she and Wilfred would spend time with family and friends.
Devout in her faith, Claire was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church and the Catholic Women's League for over fifty years. Claire will be greatly missed by her family but they are thankful for the years she shared with them.
She is survived by her son Richard, (RoseAnn) Dartmouth, grandchildren; Christopher and Tessa. Claire was Auntie to several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; Wilfred, son; Emile, sister; Thelma Paon, brothers; Norman, Claude, and Russell. Claire was the last surviving member of her family.
