- BUTZ Michael Floyd Butz, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2006 in the Candlewood Lake home he shared with his fiancee' Kathy Hundley in Mt. Gilead, Oh. He was born in Marion on July 21, 1963, the son of Donald Butz of Caledonia and the late Margarete Willer-Butz. After graduating from River Valley High School in 1982, Michael began a twenty-two year career in the home improvement industry. Much of that time was spent as an owner operator or business manager. Michael was more than a businessman, he was a roller coaster enthusiast who in his youth enjoyed recreating scale models of famous American Roller Coasters. He will be remembered as a loving father by his 3 sons, David, Daniel and Jonathon Butz of Waconia, Minn. He is also survived by his 3 brothers, Greg and wife, Fran of Benton, Ky., Chris and wife, Lisa of Marion and John and wife, Amy of Caledonia; 5 nephews and 2 nieces. Besides his mother, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Donald Joseph Butz.
