- Doris Sheppard Obituary
Sheppard, Doris Burdette Durham, 84 passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Jefferson Place in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born to Zelphia and Marvin Burdette of Herbert, KY on September 13, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents & husbands Eugene G. Durham and Robert C. Sheppard. Following one year at Bethel College of Hopkinsville and a twenty year break, she graduated in 1969 from Kentucky Southern College (now University of Louisville). She was married to Eugene G. Durham of Kenly, NC in 1949. They had one child, a daughter. Doris co-founded Medical Credit Bureau, Inc. with Robert C. Sheppard in 1961, where she worked until her retirement. After Gene died in 2004, she married Bob Sheppard in 2007. Doris is survived by her daughter, Susan Durham Richardson (Bill) of Orange, CA, her granddaughters Saren Pierson (Randy) of Sonoma, CA and Claire Richardson of Los Angeles, CA, her sister, Marvadene McGehee (Tommie), her brother, Obed E. Burdette (Barbara) of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews living in KY, IN & NC. Doris was previously a member of Rockford Lane Baptist Church. She was currently a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, where she was served by their Hugg Ministry.
