- Anna Mae Ockenfels, 83, of Vienna, Ohio passed on Labor Day morning, September 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 17, 1933 in Youngstown, the daughter of Peter and Rosina Watson Harrison. Anna was a graduate of Neal High School in Fowler.
She was employed by Packard Electric until she left in 1974 to begin her own business, Red Barn Ceramics, Inc.; which she operated for thirty three years. At one point, she was the number one distributor and largest paint and mold manufacturer. The company had provided employment for thirteen employees. Anna was a national certified ceramics teacher, enjoying the opportunity to teach others about the hobby of ceramics. Ceramics was one of her greatest joys and she was happy to be able to work alongside her husband, Marvin.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, gambling, bingo, crocheting and spending time with her family, especially the four young great grandchildren.
Anna Mae will be deeply missed by her children, Michael (Andrea) Ockenfels of Fowler and Darrell (Sharon) Ockenfels of Vienna; her two grandchildren, Curtis (Lena) Ockenfels and Sara (Matt) McElinny; her four great grandchildren, Emma, Lucas, Ben and Rian. She will also be missed by her sister, Gertrude, of Fowler.
Anna and Marvin were an inseparable couple. They enjoyed their life together until Marvin?s passing on April 22, 2013 after 62 years of marriage. Also preceding Anna were her parents, her brothers, Ed and Peter Harrison and her sisters, Mary Macias and Jean Sayers.
